Southland is a place where people are rarely seen to be rushing. With little traffic on wide roads, no crowds in the spacious parks and on the beaches, there is more time left to spend with your family, enjoy the great outdoors and breathe in the fresh, clean air.

It's all here right on our back door step

Southland is the southernmost region of New Zealand's South Island. You can feel worlds away from the stresses of city life, while at the same time, you have access to all the modern facilities. Invercargill Airport is a short 5 minute drive from the city centre, and Oreti Beach only 10 minutes away.

The unspoilt beauty of The Catlins can be found 45 minutes drive from Invercargill, where you can explore waterfalls, wildlife, wind-swept trees and rugged terrain. Travel 20 minutes south to Bluff, New Zealand's southernmost town, to taste world famous Bluff oysters, or drive 30 minutes west to the coastal town of Riverton.

A selection of sporting facilities, creative and heritage opportunities and events can be found in both Invercargill and Gore, along with great shops, restaurants and cafes. If you want the mall-shopping experience, Dunedin is a 2 and a half hour drive away or for a longer, more scenic journey, travel the Southern Scenic Route.

Queenstown is a mere 2 hour drive from Invercargill. The adventure capital of New Zealand boasts quality ski fields, sky diving, bungy jumping and an energetic night life, or you can travel the same distance to Te Anau. From there, you can go on to explore the cascading waterfalls and incredible scenery in Milford Sound.

Southland's close proximity to beautiful scenery and native wildlife, city life and the great outdoors makes it easy to live the dream lifestyle.
