ILT Stadium Southland is an impressive, multi-purpose venue, capable of hosting a wide range of national and international events and activities. From sporting and recreational events, to conferences, corporate meetings and trade shows, and even exhibitions, craft markets, and large scale concerts. Incorporating the world-class SIT Zero Fees Velodrome, it is one of the largest and most versatile multi-purpose venues in New Zealand and the jewel in Southland's sporting crown.
A large number of sporting organisations call ILT Stadium Southland home, including two of Southland's top sporting franchises: the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel and the SIT Zerofees Southland Sharks.
The Stadium boasts 10 indoor courts in total, seven of these are wooden sprung courts and three are rebound ace courts located in the centre of the Velodrome. Officially opened in May 2006, the SIT Zero Fees Velodrome was New Zealand’s first 250 metre international indoor cycling velodrome (still the only indoor velodrome in the South Island of New Zealand), and features permanent seating for 1064 spectators.
ILT Stadium Southland is an energetic hub within the community. The facility is utilised by thousands of people each week for a vast array of pursuits, including Clip ‘N Climb, cycling, netball, basketball, squash, tennis, volleyball as well as a range of small conferences and workshops.
